This page covers what happens to your data on a site whose main product is a loan calculator: numbers you type into a payment or amortization form, and the ordinary web traffic that comes with visiting any page here.
Every calculator on LoanCalcTools, the loan, mortgage, auto loan, personal loan, refinance, APR, debt payoff, compound interest, and inflation tools, runs entirely in JavaScript inside your own browser tab. When you type a loan amount, a rate, a down payment, or a term into a field, that number is used once, locally, to compute a result on your screen. It is never sent to a LoanCalcTools server, because there is no server-side calculation step in how these tools are built: the math runs client-side and the page does not have a save, submit, or account feature that would give us a reason to transmit it. Refreshing the page or closing the tab clears whatever you entered.
Standard web server and analytics logs: which pages were requested, approximate location from IP address, browser and device type, and referring site. This is the same category of data most websites collect and it does not include the numbers you enter into a calculator field. We use it to see which calculators and guides get used, and to catch pages that are broken or slow.
We use Google Analytics and Google AdSense, both of which set cookies. Google Analytics cookies help us see aggregate traffic patterns (how many visitors used the auto loan calculator this month, for instance) and do not identify you personally. AdSense cookies may be used by Google to serve ads based on your browsing history across sites; you can turn off ad personalization in your Google account settings or through the cookie banner on this site, and you can block cookies entirely in your browser. If you reject cookies, the calculators still work exactly the same, since they do not depend on cookies to compute a result.
The contact form on this site is handled by a third-party form processor (Web3Forms). If you send a message, your name, email address, and message text are used only to reply to you. We do not add contact-form senders to a marketing list, and we do not sell or share that information with other companies.
Some outbound links on calculator and guide pages are affiliate links, including Amazon Associates links. If you click one and complete a purchase, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Clicking an affiliate link may set a tracking cookie on the destination site, governed by that site's own privacy policy, not this one. This site is intended for adults researching loans and personal finance decisions. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
If we change how this site handles data, meaning a new analytics tool, a new ad network, or a new form processor, we will update this page and the "last updated" date at the top. We do not send an email notice for policy changes because we do not collect email addresses outside the contact form.
